It is difficult to express just how amazing Glenn and his staff of trainers are at Train Play Live.
We adopted a 2 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois from a rescue where she had lived for 2 years. Molly had been found in the mountains at about 6 months old. She was basically feral. Not aggressive, but literally afraid of her own shadow. Afraid of every normal noise. Here is a list of what we couldn’t accomplish when we took her home:
- Get her in our or out of our vehicle (to get her home it took 3 people 30 min. to get her in our car).
- Get her to go out willingly
- Pet her or play with her
- Take her anywhere
- Make eye contact
- Feed her with us in the same room
- Crate her willingly
- Get a leash on her in minutes instead of hours
- Safely take her to the vet or anywhere on leash
- The list goes on and on…
She spent much of her time hiding in the house. For example, the sound of the central AC running made her hide in a closet.
We started with some at home training with Glenn so we could get basics done. After 2 in home visits she started willingly going out and at least relieving herself. We were improving at getting her leash on and finally getting her in the car.
We chose the month long staycation camp. We loved the idea of having follow up training available to us as well. We joined in training there and also had home training visits. It is amazing to see Molly now. She still reacts to new noises and situations, BUT she recovers quickly and we have accomplished everything listed above and so much more. She sits and wait for her leash, she gets in the car and goes anywhere with us. No drama getting out of the house. She goes to the vet and keeps a loose leash. When necessary, she goes willingly in her crate and rests.
We have been able to teach her to fetch and she actually asks us to play. She engages with us. She comes to us and is pushy about getting pet! She rolls over to get tummy rubs. She doesn’t immediately love all people, but can meet them and accept new situations without shutting down.
At the vet yesterday they commented that she now seems like a stable and very sweet dog. They couldn’t believe how she had changed.
Bottom line; Train Play Live took us and an insanely nervous, panicked dog that we flat out couldn’t handle and changed our lives. We can take her anywhere, leave her with a pet sitter at home without worrying. She easily overcomes fearful moments and actually is enjoying her life for the first time.
We can not thank them enough.
